Reese appeared on The View on Wednesday, to promote Busy Betty. The interview was similar to GMA and The Today Show, with Reese talking about Busy Betty being based on her as a child, the trouble she got into as a child when trying to run businesses, and her mother’s influence on her. Reese talked about Hello Sunshine and putting women’s stories out there, what it is she loves about books, how she chooses which books to turn into movies or TV series including Where The Crawdads Sing, how she’s learned “every side of my business”, and that she doesn’t have ‘imposter syndrome’. They also chatted about Sweet Home Alabama and the appeal of romantic comedies, Lizzo, and season 3 of The Morning Show. Reese posed outside the studios with her book. Reese wore a pretty purple dress by Oscar De La Renta, with Christian Louboutin shoes and a Bottega Veneta purse.

Reese appeared on Today with Hoda and Jenna on Tuesday, to promote her new children’s book Busy Betty. Reese talked about her early experiences of business – including lemonade stands – and that she was “kooky” and had a “big personality” as a child! She said she didn’t play much with other children as she was too busy performing and singing Dolly Parton to them, and that her kindergarten teacher told her Mom this and her Mom put her in acting classes! She also talked about how she’s always found it important to see how different parts of film-making happen (she worked as a production assistant when she was younger), and the work she is doing now to develop more roles for women. Reese talked about the spirit of Busy Betty, as well as the difference between parenting young children and adult children. They mentioned that it is the 20th anniversary of Sweet Home Alabama and Reese said she’d “make some calls” to get a reboot/sequel made! đ Reese’s gorgeous red jacket and trousers are by Alexander McQueen, and her shoes are Christian Louboutin.

Reese Witherspoonâs Hello Sunshine Developing âGoldilocks and the Three Bearsâ Movie With Build-A-Bear This marks the first feature from the kids and animation division of Witherspoon’s company. The reimagining of the classic tale will lean heavily into the title character as a powerful female protagonist.
Reese Witherspoon and Sarah Hardenâs production company Hello Sunshine and Build-A-Bear Entertainment are partnering to develop a reimagination of the classic childrenâs story, Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
The movie â which marks the first feature from Hello Sunshineâs kids and animation division â will be a modern take on the classic tale that leans into the title character as a powerful female protagonist.
Witherspoon and Hello Sunshineâs head of kids and animation, Claire Curley, will executive produce the project alongside Build-A-Bearâs Sharon Price John and Foundation Media Partnersâ Patrick Hughes. Hello Sunshine CEO Sarah Harden said the hope is âfor this collaboration to provide families a new way to experience and shareâ the companyâs mission.
This is the first partnership between Hello Sunshine and Build-A-Bear, the global family-friendly branded toy and entertainment company.
âOver the last 25 years, Build-A-Bear has created a trusted fanbase rooted in family, personal connection, and storytelling with teddy bears, making them the perfect partner for this project,â Curley said in a statement. âWeâre excited to collaborate with them to bring a new perspective to such a timeless tale that we know will inspire young audiences.â

Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter Are Doing Just Fine Without the Boys Club
Hello Sunshineâs top creative duo â and THRâs TV Producers of the Year â on that $900 million sale, a rom-com renaissance and the potential return of ‘Big Little Lies’: “I talk to Nicole Kidman about it all the time.”
Reading isnât only fundamental. Sometimes, itâs incredibly lucrative. Reese Witherspoon proved that in 2021 when she sold Hello Sunshine, the media company she built on the back of her own voracious reading and savvy book rights acquisitions, to Blackstone-backed Candle Media for a reported $900 million. Not too shabby for a production outfit that many might have been quick to write off as another actorâs vanity shingle. But Witherspoonâs tastes â and those of Lauren Neustadter, Hello Sunshineâs president of film and TV â have populated one of the most thriving content suppliers in Hollywood. Blending marquee ensemble vehicles for its founder (Big Little Lies, Little Fires Everywhere and The Morning Show) with an aggressive slate of dramas starring the likes of Octavia Spencer (Truth Be Told), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Surface) and Zoe Saldaña (From Scratch, out Oct. 21 on Netflix), Hello Sunshineâs focus on female stories (from female storytellers) has made it a standout.
Further distinguishing the brand is its ever-diversifying portfolio. In February, the company acquired media and merchandising startup The Home Edit. And in July, it saw its first theatrical release since Hello Sunshineâs 2016 founding, Where the Crawdads Sing. The picture, an adaptation of an early Reeseâs Book Club selection, grossed $130 million on a $24 million budget. Speaking in mid-September over Zoom, Witherspoon and Neustadter, THRâs TV Producers of the Year, discussed new areas that theyâve identified for expansion, the biggest obstacle in populating sets with women and why Hollywood should be preparing for the impending rom-com renaissance.
You just hit the one-year anniversary of the sale. How would you describe this era of the company?
REESE WITHERSPOON Itâs a big year for romance for us. We have a movie in December with Zoey Deutch called Something From Tiffanyâs, a real return of the rom-com. And Ashton Kutcher and I have a movie coming out at Valentineâs Day, Your Place or Mine.
Oui by Yoplait teams with Reese Witherspoon and Eve Rodsky to embolden women
A new content series created by General Mills-owned Oui by Yoplait â in partnership with Reese Witherspoonâs media company and best-selling self-help author Eve Rodsky â follows the stories of three real women embracing their creative sides and making time for themselves.
French-style yogurt brand Oui by Yoplait today announced a new partnership with Hello Sunshine, actress Reese Witherspoonâs media firm. The goal? To uplift women and encourage them to âSay Ouiâ (âyesâ in French) to themselves and live intentionally.
âSay Ouiâ will center around a new video series featuring Witherspoon, who will star alongside Eve Rodsky, the best-selling author of Fair Play and Find Your Unicorn Space â books designed to help women set meaningful goals, rediscover their creativity, go after what they want and live more balanced lives.
Part of a multi-year partnership, the series will see Witherspoon and Rodsky help real women in different chapters of their lives to realign their priorities and cultivate creativity. The series tells the inspiring stories of three women: a stay-at-home mom makes time to pursue her passion for painting; a woman finds everyday hope and joy in ballroom dancing; another takes a leap of faith and tries out rock climbing.
âI know firsthand how difficult it can be to carve out time to make space for yourself,â Witherspoon said in a statement shared with The Drum. âThis partnership and video series are so important as they will inspire women to find their creative passions and say âyesâ to themselves every day.â
Reese Witherspoonâs Hello Sunshine Expands Into U.K., Hires Sarah Lazenby to Lead New Unscripted Division
Hello Sunshine, the production company founded by Reese Witherspoon, is set to shine some of its rays across the Atlantic.
The company, which has been behind HBOâs Big Little Lies, Apple TV+âs The Morning Show and Huluâs Little Fires Everywhere, was last year acquired by Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggsâ Candle Media in a deal valuing it at $900 million. Now it has unveiled its first international expansion with the launch of an unscripted division in the U.K. And while exact details are under wraps, Hello Sunshineâs new U.K. division is already developing its first production, a project with British network Channel 4.
Sarah Lazenby, who was formerly head of features and formats at Channel 4, where she commissioned shows including The Great British Bake Off, will oversee operations as executive vp, unscripted U.K. Lazenby, who most recently produced HBOâs Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, will report to Hello Sunshineâs head of unscripted Sara Rea.
âWe are thrilled to expand our global mission of innovative, unscripted, female-led storytelling to the U.K.,â said Rea, who joined in 2020 when Hello Sunshine acquired her SKR Productions. âSarah Lazenby is perfectly poised to lead the charge, as her talent, passion, and sensibility for great storytelling, couldnât be more in sync with our mission. This is a strategic and exciting moment for us as a company as we continue building upon our trusted relationship with talent and viewers around the world.â
While Hello Sunshine may be better known for its scripted output, its unscripted output includes Netflixâs Get Organized, while it is currently producing country music talent show My Kind of Country for Apple TV+ and To Paris With Love, an unscripted romantic comedy feature for Roku.
âHello Sunshineâs unique global brand and inspirational mission to change the way women walk through the world through storytelling is one I have admired for quite some time,â said Lazenby. âItâs a dream come true to join the talented team and I look forward to bringing the sunshine to the U.K. by creating the next generation of joyous and entertaining formats.â
Hello Sunshine isnât the only major company making new inroads into the U.K. Earlier this year, A24 opened its first overseas office in London, poaching two top BBC execs in the process.
