Reese appeared on Good Morning America this morning. It was billed as her having a “big announcement”, but it was nothing completely new – she spoke about her new Book Club app, as well as her dogs, how she’s managing quarantine, and working on Legally Blonde 3 with Mindy Kaling. Watch the interview below:
Mark Duplass, Jon Hamm, Eddie Huang, Gillian Jacobs, Marc Maron, Kevin Murphy, Michaela Watkins, Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon joined the American Cinematheque for a retrospective conversation on Lynn Shelton’s television career with Jim Hemphill on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 7:00 PM PDT.
CBS Sunday Morning had a profile on Reese and Hello Sunshine on their show yesterday, with a new interview with Reese and her fellow company executives Sarah Harden and Lauren Neustadter. She talked about how her career as a producer has developed, betting on herself, and adapting media for the current coronavirus pandemic.
Reese Witherspoon is not just an Oscar-winning actress; she is also a major Hollywood influencer. Her media company, Hello Sunshine, has been behind stories that put a female perspective front-and-center, such as the TV series “Big Little Lies” and “Little Fires Everywhere.” Correspondent Rita Braver talks with Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine executives Sarah Harden and Lauren Neustadter about their philosophy, and how the coronavirus pandemic is affecting production.
Reese appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show today, although it was taped last week. She promoted Little Fires Everywhere, and also talked about Beyonce and Jay-Z, her recent photoshoot for Harper’s Bazaar, a scene that was cut from her first appearance on SNL in 2001, the 90’s and TikTok. Reese and Ellen then played a game of ‘Danger Word’. Below are the clips, and we have HQ stills in our Gallery:
Hulu Cancels ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ Premiere Over Coronavirus Concerns
With the coronavirus pandemic rapidly spreading in the U.S., Hollywood has been canceling large gatherings to help slow the outbreak. The latest event to be pulled over the coronavirus is the March 12 premiere of Hulu’s new limited series Little Fires Everywhere starring and executive produced by Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington. The streamer just notified attendees of the cancellation in an email.
“As you are all aware, the current state of affairs has altered the daily lives of many people, including our cast and crew. After hearing from many of you, and out of an abundance of caution, we are canceling tomorrow’s Little Fires Everywhere premiere screening and celebration,” Hulu said in the email. “We are extremely proud of this series and can’t wait to share it with you when it debuts on Hulu on March 18. Thank you for your understanding.”
Based on Celeste Ng’s bestselling book, Little Fires Everywhere premieres March 18.
Developed and written by Casual‘s Liz Tigelaar, Little Fires Everywhere follows the intertwined fates of the picture-perfect Richardson family and an enigmatic mother and daughter who upend their lives. The story explores the weight of secrets, the nature of art and identity, the ferocious pull of motherhood – and the danger in believing that following the rules can avert disaster.
Joshua Jackson, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jade Pettyjohn, Jordan Elsass, Gavin Lewis, Megan Stott, Lexi Underwood and Huang Lu also star.
The series is produced by Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, Washington’s Simpson Street and ABC Signature Studios, a part of Disney Television Studios. Tigelaar serves as creator, showrunner and executive producer. The series is also executive produced by Reese Witherspoon, Kerry Washington, Lauren Levy Neustadter, Pilar Savone and Lynn Shelton. Author Celeste Ng serves as producer.
Reese attended the Upfront Summit in LA on January 29th/30th, to talk about Hello Sunshine with her CEO Sarah Harden.
The annual Upfront Summit hosts more than 1,000 top investors, entrepreneurs, and leaders for an invitation-only event in Los Angeles. Forget what you think you know about tech conferences – with two days of compelling content, conversation, and connection, our Summit showcases the best of technology, innovation, and creativity, from established global brands to bleeding edge disruptors. We take on meaningful subjects with true thought-leaders. And it’s a lot of fun – it is LA, after all.
Reese Witherspoon and Sarah Harden discuss creating their media company Hello Sunshine and developing projects that put marginalized creative voices and storytelling at the forefront – how it was started, the untraditional power structure at the head of the company, and how they’re architecting the business for the next 20 years.
They also discuss how much they love data and books, about the journey of Reese’s Book Club, and what it takes to change and diversify the media landscape.
Reese attended the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party in Beverly Hills last night, and she looked incredible! Reese was with her husband for the night, and was spotted chatting to Katie Couric, Ciara, and businesswoman and author Arianna Huffington during the party. After this, the couple went on to Beyonce & Jay-Z’s Oscar party. Reese wore a silver Dolce & Gabbana heart-shaped jewel embellished cocktail dress with crystal bands, with Louboutin heels, and jewellery by Forevermark (specifically, the Rahaminov asscher diamond drop earrings, DeGem Journey ring and Forevermark by Rahaminov diamond line bracelet). Reese was a vision, I absolutely love her look! Reese was also photographed for a portrait for Vanity Fair during the event. Find the first HQ photos in our Gallery:
Earlier in the week Reese jetted over to France to attend the Armani Prive Haute Couture Show during Paris Fashion Week. Reese was sitting next to her The Morning Show co-star Bel Powley (she played Claire), and was also pictured with actress Juliette Binoche, the designer himself Giorgio Armani, and his niece Roberta Armani. Reese looked striking in a black embellished jumpsuit by the brand.
German news show ZDF Leute Heute has a good report on Reese’s appearance including snippets from an interview on the red carpet – find screencaptures from that in our Gallery and watch the video here.
