According to Variety, Reese Witherspoon and Type A Films are producing a new movie, Under the Bridge:
Reese Witherspoon’s Type A Films is developing Under the Bridge, based on Rebecca Godfrey’s true-crime account of a brutal high school murder. Thirteen helmer Catherine Hardwicke is in talks to direct the pic.
There’s no word yet on whether Witherspoon will star in Bridge, which will chronicle the 1997 killing of high school student Reena Virk in a small British Columbia town and the ensuing investigation and prosecution. Godfrey, who’s from the same area, returned to her hometown to research the eight high schoolers who were charged in the case, investigating the cliques at the group’s well-off school as well as the life of Virk, the daughter of Indian immigrants. Two of the students were convicted in 2005.
Type A has bought both film rights to the book and life rights to Godfrey’s story, with the possibility of the author herself becoming a character in the pic.

Icelandic movie producer SigurjĂłn Sighvatsson is to produce a movie by Irish director Jim Sheridan, possibly to star Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon and Oscar-nominee Leonardo DiCaprio.
The movie will be a remake of Brödre (Brothers) by Danish director Susanne Bier, released in 2004. David Benioff will write the script, who is one of the highest-earning screenplay writers in Hollywood, as stated in Fréttabladid.
Some of Hollywoodâs most famous actors and actresses have declared their interest in participating in the project, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Reese Witherspoon, but the cast has not been decided on yet.
Sighvatsson explained to FrĂ©ttabladid that it can be difficult to get a high-profile cast together, âMany of the biggest stars are booked many months, even years, in advance.â

“Some people are effortlessly glamorous and sexy,” the actress, 31, has told People. “For me, a lot of that stuff is difficult.” Still, her skin-care regimen sounds pretty easy: “I just wear a lot of sunscreen. That’s it. Nothing more. I’m just lucky my grandma gave me great skin.”
Could Estée Lauder be on the verge of signing its second Oscar winner? According to a industry sources, word has it that the beauty giant is in talks with Reese Witherspoon about becoming the newest face of Estée Lauder, joining an illustrious roster that already includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Liya Kebede, Carolyn Murphy, Elizabeth Hurley, and, most recently, Hilary Rhoda.
The 31-year-old actress and mother of two, who won an Academy Award in 2006 for her role in Walk the Line, is rumored to be in the elementary stages of discussion, with the source adding that there is no concrete contract just yet. Witherspoon, just one of a pool of coveted actresses that have yet to pledge their allegiances to any one beauty brandâincluding Natalie Portman, Julia Roberts, and Keira Knightleyârecently agreed to be dressed by Nina Ricciâs Olivier Theyskens for all formal public outings, and reportedly has a deal to wear Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry on the red carpet exclusively.
An EstĂ©e Lauder spokesperson declined comment. Witherspoonâs publicist was unavailable for comment.
