Reese graces the cover of the new issue of UK Red magazine, with photos from her 2012 Elle magazine photoshoot alongside what seems to be a new interview. Check out the cover in our Gallery, and the interview below. I’ll be on the hunt for scans!
Reese WitherspoonNew baby, new production company and two of the best roles of her career – Reese Witherspoon is at the top of her game. She talks ambition, inspiration and why her girlfriends keep her sane, with Rosamund Dean.
There are some actresses who are so adored on screen, you almost don’t want to meet them, in case the reality doesn’t live up to the fantasy. Reese Witherspoon is one. This is the woman who taught us the ‘bend and snap’ in Legally Blonde, played Rachel’s little sister in Friends, and won an Oscar as resilient, conflicted June Carter in Walk The Line.
Sitting in the bar of the Beverly Hills Hotel where we are to meet for afternoon tea, I wonder: how can the real Reese Witherspoon possibly compete? Then, she strides in, all impenetrably dark sunglasses and stylish black sweater thrown over a red Carven dress.
For a second, she looks intimidating, but then the glasses come off, that megawatt smile comes on and I relax. She actually is the charming southern belle we know and love, her conversation peppered with ‘y’know’ and ‘y’all’.
‘Yeah, people definitely hug me a lot, and hand me their babies,’ she says of her girl-next-door image. ‘But it’s better than people throwing stuff at me, right? I’m always met with smiles.’
Hello Reese fans! A couple of days ago I added lots more HQ photos from the recent screening of Mud that Reese attended – these include some great shots of Reese with her director and co-stars. I really like Reese’s look here – it’s so simple but chic … and I do love her with brown hair again!
Reese attended a New York screening of her new movie Mud last night, and posed with her director Jeff Nichols, and co-stars Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Paulson. Reese looked pretty in a little black Yves Saint Laurent dress, with YSL shoes and clutch, and Loree Rodkin earrings. She greeted the photographers, but did not stop to talk to reporters.
The BBC have some footage of Reese posing on the red carpet, as do USA Today, whose footage you can see further down this post. The first photos have been added to our Gallery, and I’m sure more will pop up soon!
Reese is scheduled to appear on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon tomorrow night in the US to promote Mud. I don’t know how her recent troubles will affect this, but if she does appear I will bring you videos and photos asap after 🙂
Looks like Cameron Diaz is about to finalise a deal for Sex Tape, a role Reese was previously rumoured to be attached to (previous articles here and here).
Cameron Diaz in Early Talks to Make ‘Sex Tape’ With Jason Segel
The trio behind Sony’s surprise hit “Bad Teacher” is chalking up a reunion, as Cameron Diaz is in early talks to reteam with director Jake Kasdan and co-star Jason Segel on the studio’s comedy “Sex Tape.”
Escape Artists is producing the movie, which concerns a married couple who take a night off from their kids and decide to spice up their love life by making a sex tape. When they wake up the next morning, the tape is missing, prompting them to figure out who took it and how to get it back.
Diaz had been rumored as a possible female lead more than a year ago, but negotiations are now underway and expected to lead to a deal.
Kate Angelo wrote the script on spec, and the film will be produced by Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch of Escape Artists.
Diaz will next be seen opposite Colin Firth in CBS Films’ remake of “Gambit” as well as Ridley Scott’s “The Counselor,” which also stars Michael Fassbender and Brad Pitt. She’ll soon begin filming Nick Cassavetes’ comedy “The Other Woman” with Leslie Mann and Kate Upton.
“Bad Teacher” grossed $216 million worldwide on a modest production budget and spawned a CBS pilot that sees Ari Graynor taking over the title role.
Fox Finds ‘The Engagements’ with Reese Witherspoon – March 20th 2013
Fox 2000 has acquired the rights to the novel “The Engagements” and is in negotiations with Reese Witherspoon to come on board to produce.
If the deal goes through, Witherspoon would produce through her Pacific Standard banner along with her producing partner Bruna Papandrea. Pacific Standard brought the book to Fox.
Film is based on J. Courtney Sullivan novel, to be published in June, the story tells a deeply romantic story that follows a diamond engagement ring from the 1930s to the present, connecting five very different relationships in surprising and unexpected ways.
It is unknown whether the adaptation will be developed as a starring vehicle for Witherspoon given how many projects she is already producing.
Since starting her production shingle, Witherspoon has been especially keen on producing popular book adaptations.
Witherspoon was quick to jump on as a producer of the New York Times Best-seller “Gone Girl” by Gillian Flynn, which was such a hot property that David Fincher has attached himself to direct. She is repped by CAA and Management 360.
