Tonight during the MTV Video Music Awards the trailer for Four Christmases made it’s debut in a short minute or so TV spot. Reese looked really cute and we saw a variety of scenes, I expect the online premiere any day now. It’s a strong possibility MTV will post it first so check there for now.
Update 9/10: You can watch a low quality version of the trailer snippet on Buzz Sugar. Thanks to Lindsey for the notice!
Check out the poster for Four Christmases courtesy of Tyler. I smell a trailer coming up soon! 😉 Reese plays Kate in the film, which opens on November 26th.
When upscale, happily unmarried San Francisco couple Kate and Brad find themselves socked in by fog on Christmas morning, their exotic vacation plans morph into the family-centric holiday they had, until now, gleefully avoided. Out of obligation—and unable to escape—they trudge to not one, not two, but four relative-choked festivities, increasingly mortified to find childhood fears raised, adolescent wounds reopened… and their very future together uncertain. As Brad counts the hours to when he can get away from their parents, step-parents, siblings and an assortment of nieces and nephews, Kate is starting to hear the ticking of a different kind of clock. And by the end of the day, she is beginning to wonder if their crazy families’ choices are not so crazy after all.

Four Christmases
Nov. 26
Reese Witherspoon, Vince Vaughn
This holiday romp — starring Witherspoon and Vaughn as a couple obliged to celebrate Christmas with each of their divorced parents — is Reese’s first romcom since 2005’s Just Like Heaven. And in case having her back in high spirits isn’t gift enough, the movie also marks the feature-directing debut of Seth Gordon, who made last year’s terrific The King of Kong.

When Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon team up for a Christmas flick, they’re not looking to remake The Santa Clause. As such, this November’s Four Christmases isn’t a cookie-cutter flick about rounding up the entire family on Christmas day and watching the excitement and hilarity that ensues. No, it’s about an ever-worsening trend in American culture: Divorce.
“The movie is all about family,” Witherspoon told us recently of the currently filming flick. “It’s about the connection with your mother and your father, and those dynamics, so I really think people are going to relate to it.”

Filming has now wrapped for Four Christmases, starring Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn, and the movie is in post-production. It will be released November 26, 2008 in the USA – a little earlier than I was expecting, which is always good news. Aside voicing a character for Monsters vs. Aliens, I am not quite sure on what Reese’s next movie will be but hopefully something will be announced soon for her. Meanwhile, check you some 2008 photos from the set of Four Christmases in the gallery.

MoviesOnline sat down recently with Reese Witherspoon at the Los Angeles press day for her new movie, Penelope, a modern day romantic tale about a girl coming to terms with who she is. Witherspoon produces and stars in the film which is directed by Mark Palansky from a script by Leslie Caveny. She also talks about Four Christmases, Children’s Defense Fund (in which she says she is going to New Orleans again next month), the Oscars, and so much more. Be sure to check it out!
Penelope Wilhern (Christina Ricci, Sleepy Hollow), born to wealthy socialites (Catherine O’Hara, Home Alone, and Robert E. Grant, Gosford Park), is afflicted by the Wilhern spell that can only be broken when she finds love. Hidden away in her family’s estate, the lonely girl meets a string of suitors in her parent’s futile attempt to break the curse. Each eligible bachelor is enamored with Penelope and her sizable dowry … until her curse is revealed.

Reese Witherspoon had to stand on a box to kiss Vince Vaughn in their new movie.
The petite actress couldn’t reach the 6ft 5ins tall actor in love scenes for romantic comedy Four Christmases and had to come up with a creative way to secure the clinch.
“When we shot the kissing scenes, the top of my head hits Vince’s armpit! So I had to drag my apple box around with me.
“I had an apple box and a platform that I dragged around with me and stood on it.” She told America’s People magazine.
