In between all the Big Little Lies promotion, we’ve been continuing our work on the TV Appearances section of the Gallery. Since that last update, we’ve completed (as much as possible – depending on photos/videos available!) the years of 2008, 2009 and 2010. Reese did a lot of TV interviews in these years, to promote big budget movies Four Christmases, Monsters Vs Aliens and How Do You Know – and a few for the lower-budget Penelope! In between movie promotion, she also made some appearances to highlight her work with Avon. I particularly loved her looks on Leno & Jonathan Ross in 2009! Lots of screencaptures and stills in the Gallery for you:

As earlier reported Reese was in Brazil yesterday as the Avon Global Ambassador. The event was “Speak Out Against Domestic Violence,” a joint campaign launched in 2004 by the UN Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) and the Avon cosmetics company. She looked ultra pretty in a classy navy dress, hoop earrings and blue heels. The event was held at the World Trade Center hotel in Sao Paulo and lasted one hour, Reese highlighted the campaign’s aims in Latin America, including the sale of bracelets which is financing the charity. She flew back to the United States yesterday shortly after arriving on Wednesday. I’d like to thank Marcela for many picture contributions and translations!
Here is a news report regarding the press conference.
“One woman in three in the world is affected by domestic violence. There isn’t a woman in the world that doesn’t have a friend or a partner who’s actually experiencing some sort of violence against them, so I think although domestic violence hasn’t happened to me personally, I certainly know women who are dealing with this struggle every day.” – Reese Witherspoon
In a symbolic gesture, she gave one of the bracelets to Maria da Penha Maia Fernandes, a Brazilian woman who has come to represent domestic violence in her home country after she was left a paraplegic by her violent husband.
After a 20-year legal battle, Brazil in 2006 named a law after Maia Fernandes that recognizes domestic violence against women as a human rights violation, and extends a number of preventive and punitive measures as well as assistance.
According to UNIFEM, one Brazilian woman in five suffers violence at the hands of a man, and there were an estimated 2.1 million women in the country who each year are victims of domestic violence.
Domestic violence, Witherspoon said, “affects women who are famous, who are not famous, women who have money, women who have no money. This is an issue that crosses all boundaries and it certainly affects everyone.”

You can bring home Christina Ricci like you’ve never seen her (or her nose) before this July. Penelope is coming to DVD on July 15. We have no cover art for this release yet, but the disc will be priced at $25.99. This will be available for Region 1.
The Special Features will include a Behind-the-scenes featurette and something I’m a little fangirly excited about, a sneak peek at the Summit Entertainment’s upcoming adaptation of Twilight which stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
Again, apologies for the lack in updates. Things have been very busy in my end and now that Reese is done promoting Penelope in the US, things are getting more quiet again. To make up for it, I come bearing amazing gifts, powered by Mariana! Believe it or not, Penelope is already available on DVD in Brazil so she has created 200 caps of Reese’s little role for us and scanned the covers. The caps should not be spoilery even if you have not seen the film since her role really is so small. In addition, I’ve added one more HQ still from the movie as well as capped a Simply Entertainment Penelope special.
By the way, Penelope will be released on DVD in the UK on June 9, 2008. Pre-order now at Amazon!

Reese: “Children just equal trash!”
Ellen: “Well let’s not quote you on that!”
I have finally gotten Reese’s Feb 28 Ellen appearance added to the site. I had a lot of things that went on during the weekend so online duties went to the back burner so I apologize for the wait. Again I just love her Ellen appearances, she’s always so adorable and funny on these! I have made screencaps of all of her goofy faces too. PS – Still looking for a clip of Regis (one that I we can actually encode/cap) thanks.

Penelope opened in the US this weekend. It came in number #8 at the box office, earning another $4 million. It’s total grosss is over $10+ million thus far including its previous overseas sales.
1. Semi-Pro, $15.3 million.
2. Vantage Point, $13 million.
3. Spiderwick Chronicles, $8.8 million.
4.The Other Boleyn Girl, $8.3 million
5. Jumper, $7.6 million.
6. Step Up 2 The Streets, $5.7 million.
7. Fool’s Gold, $4.7 million.
8. Penelope, $4 million.
9. No Country For Old Men, $4 million.
10. Juno, $3.4 million
And it seems a lot of the reviews are mixed. Some people really love the film and find it genuinely heartwarming while others did not like it at all. But I’d love to know what the Reese fans think! If you wish to share your comments you may do so in the forum or by commenting on articles.
Penelope is now in US theatres! I’m personally very excited and hope to see it this weekend, you should definitely do the same!
I came across an interview with Penelope actress Christina Ricci from Bend Weekly where she was asked about Reese. Here is the funny quote:
Q: There is a scene with you riding on the back of a Vespa with Reese Witherspoon. What was that like?
Ricci: Well it was sort of odd. She flew in the day after she won her Oscar, and then maybe two days after that we were on the back of the Vespa and I’m wearing this out-of-context, somewhat ridiculous coat and scarf and she’s got the dorky helmet on and the whole gear. We’re not really driving the Vespa, we’re just riding on the back of it, on a trailer. And we were going through London streets and people all over were just yelling, “Reese! That’s Reese Witherspoon!” and they were honking. It was hilarious. I was just saying, “This is amazing. You know, 72 hours ago you were dressed in a gown and holding a gorgeous golden Oscar, and now you’re being totally made fun of, on a Vespa in the streets of London.” It was kind of hysterical.
Another super cute and funny Penelope interview with Reese has surfaced on MTV.com. View captures in the gallery.

Fantasy flick’s producer/co-star says Ricci had ‘no fear whatsoever’ about donning nose.
They’ve bonded over their shared rejections, the fact that they’re too short to ride motor scooters, and not being able to afford James McAvoy. So how did Reese Witherspoon and Christina Ricci become two of Hollywood’s biggest stars?
