The first official clip from This Means War has been released online, entitled ‘Acquire Intel’. It was actually part of the 9 minute preview posted the other day, but in case you want to watch it stand-alone, here it is:
Check out this super rare treat of Reese talking to MTV way back in 1991 – that’s 21 years ago! I can’t believe Reese has been working in Hollywood for that long, can you?
Unfortunately those outside the US can’t view the video (thanks, MTV), but hopefully there will be some other way for us to get it, and if so I will of course post here.
Reese Witherspoon is slated to sit down with MTV News on Tuesday for an exclusive interview and premiere of a previously unseen clip from her upcoming film “This Means War.” The special, “MTV First: Reese Witherspoon,” will air on Tuesday at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV.
But before we look to the future, we are going to take a peep at her past. MTV News has uncovered a precious vintage gem, a 1991 interview with the then up-and-comer. “Ever since I was 7,” the already precocious and sassy rookie told MTV News when asked whether she had always had her sights set on a career in Hollywood. “I just thought, I always wanted to do something really outgoing ’cause when I was little I was really kind of quiet, but you know, I’d always be really creative at home and stuff, and finally I started, you know, speaking out and doing little things to impress everybody.”
She further explained that once she had decided that acting was something she wanted to do, she took the necessary steps to make sure she’d be ready for fame and stardom. “I started taking little acting classes and improv classes and, you know, [that] turned out to be what I was going to do,” she said. “I was always going to do something really out there, really far away. Does that make any sense? No, not really.”

Another version of the video, which you can find further down this post, has an additional sequence at the beginning, showing a big action scene (just not with Reese).
Everybody loves Reese Witherspoon, right? Well, almost everybody.
“You know, Chelsea. I’m super excited to give you your award tonight. These guys did an amazing job,” the Oscar winner tells Chelsea Handler after collaborating with the Chelsea Lately staffers on a speech she’s going to give at a Women in Television event.
“Ooh, that reminds me, I made a little something to say thank you for all your hard work. I’ll be right back,” says Reese.
“Oh my God, she’s driving me crazy,” moans Chelsea after the actress has left the room. “You guys were right the last time. She is so awful.”
“What are you talking about?” asks show writer Heather McDonald. “Reese is like a little slice of wonderful.”
“No, she’s like a big slice of pain in my ass,” snaps Chelsea. “I should have asked Rosie O’Donnell to present me with my award. She’s a mess.”
*phew* I’ve now added over 100 more photos from Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards – the majority of which are in HQ! These are some really fantastic photos, with Reese showing off her mega-watt smile and making some very funny faces at the photographers! As we posted about last night, Miss Reese attended the Golden Globe Awards last night, looking ravishing in red. We posted the first look at her at the event last night, and I have now added our first 31 HQs from the night to the Gallery! Unfortunately this is all I’ve had time for today, but many, many, many (!) more will be added in the next day or so. Plus, further down this post is a short but sweet video interview with Reese on the red carpet.
During the show Reese served as a presenter, introducing the film ‘The Descendants‘ as a Best Picture – Drama nominee. Film fans will know that ‘The Descendants‘ is directed by Alexander Payne, who directed Reese in Election. Reese sweetly – and proudly – spoke of him as her friend. I will probably be able to get a video and caps of her presenting, and again those will be up in a day or so, as will tidbits from the goings-on during the night.
