Reese and Draper James’s Head of Design Kathryn Sukey appear on the cover of the Fall/Winter edition of Editorialist magazine this month. Editorialist is an online magazine focused on luxury accessories and jewellery. In the magazine, Reese and Kathryn pose for a new photoshoot, and talk about the inspiration for Draper James and upcoming plans for the brand.
Following on from our previous 2014 TV appearance update, we have an even bigger one for you this weekend! Over 6,000 photos & screencaptures from Reese’s TV appearances in 2015 have been added to our Gallery in the last few weeks. Reese started off the year with a couple of appearances to promote Wild during awards season, then promoted Hot Pursuit, and within that did some promotion for Draper James. She and Sofia Vergara also did the rounds of various Mexican talk shows which was fun to watch.
We’ve also added a few sets of screencaptures from some online interviews released this year. The Fandango interview is particularly great – Reese and the interviewer watch a scene from Wild and talk through it in depth.
I loved Reese’s interviews this year and she looked amazing! There are so many fabulous photos to browse through in this update, including rare photos from the Mexican TV shows. My favourites are the Despierta America, Good Morning America and Live With Kelly & Michael photos Many of the interviews are posted further down this post for you to watch, and enjoy browsing through the screencaptures in the Gallery:
E! News have shared this fantastic old segment with the cast of Legally Blonde from back in 2001. Listen to Reese talking about the work she put into the role, and her co-stars singing her praises!
Since our last TV Appearances update, we’ve been continuing to work on this section – this is a big update! We’ve added stills and/or screencaptures – where possible – of Reese’s TV appearances between the years of 2000 to 2007. She made an increasing number of appearances to promote her films, from Legally Blonde and The Importance Of Being Earnest, to Walk The Line and Just Like Heaven, to Rendition. There are some fabulous pictures in here, including some rare ones (I’d never seen the 2006 Le Grand Journal ones before!) … and Reese is always so expressive in interviews! Some of the older screencaptures are quite small because unfortunately this is all we have salvaged from previous versions of the site, but they’re still a treat π
We lost a lot of content from Glamour Reese several years ago when the site changed servers and/or owners, and subsequently we’re missing some of the interview videos we previously had – as ever, if you have anything we don’t, please get in touch – we really strive to make this the most complete archive of Reese’s career!!
A couple of days ago Reese interviewed Michelle Obama on the Denver stop of Michelle’s ‘Becoming’ book tour. The two-some spoke about Michelle’s career, family, and being the President’s wife at the city’s Pepsi Centre. Find an article and social media posts from the conversation further down this post, as well as short video footage within a fan’s vlog (fast forward toward the end of the video to see the actual footage). And we have a few photos in our Gallery.
Obama recounted Inauguration Day in January 2017, when she said she was “feeling the weight of all that we had done being flipped over” as she listened to Trump give a speech on a stage that lacked diversity.
She also told actress Reese Witherspoon, who interviewed her on stage at the event, that it was “surreal” to hear “some people literally taking my voice as their own.”
She did not refer specifically to first lady Melania Trump repeating a paragraph of an earlier Michelle Obama speech in her 2016 remarks at the Republican National Convention. But Witherspoon joked in response that a “very similar person” also stole the voice of her fictional character from “Legally Blonde,” an apparent reference to a speech President Trump made in 2017.
The highly anticipated music video for Ariana Grande’s new single ‘thank u, next‘ was released this evening, and features her take on Legally Blonde! As has been teased across the internet for days, the video re-created scenes from popular rom-coms Mean Girls, Bring It On, 13 Going on 30 and of course Legally Blonde – they even recreated the ‘bend & snap’ with Paulette herself, Jennifer Coolidge! Reese tweeted her support of the video as well. Watch the video for yourself:
US morning show TODAY aired an interview with Reese on October 2nd, as part of her Whiskey In A Teacup promotional tour. She chatted about her book, and Legally Blonde!
Why Reese Witherspoon says Elle Woods is still a ‘source of strength’
Reese Witherspoon has played so many strong, memorable characters over the years, but she will always have a soft spot for one in particular: Elle Woods from βLegally Blonde.β
βI just think about Elle Woods a lot and what a source of strength she is,β the actress said during a recent interview with TODAY’s Jenna Bush Hager.
