I’ve now added screencaps from the new Extra interview with Reese that I posted earlier today. Make sure you watch the vid, it’s a short but sweet interview!
Reese was seen back at work on the set of This Means War in Vancouver yesterday. Cameras snapped her rehearsing, and then shooting, a scene at a farmer’s market with Chris Pine. Reese was also getting in the mood for Halloween by pulling some scary faces! 50+ photos have been added to the Gallery!
“Extra’s” AJ Calloway laughed with actress Reese Witherspoon at the Avon Foundation for Women event in NYC, chatting about her new movie with Jack Nicholson (“How Do You Know”), her shoes (Louboutin) and doing a mini-triathlon (with her 11-year-old daughter, Ava).
“It was hard,” Witherspoon said of the triathlon. “My results showed my lack of training. Ava pointed out that a 5th-grader passed me.”
A benefit evening for the Avon Foundation for Women hosted by Andrea Jung & Reese Witherspoon. Featuring a Musical Performance by Melissa Etheridge
The 10th annual Avon Foundation for Women Gala tonight honored exceptional women and men for their efforts to end breast cancer and violence against women. The event, held at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City, has raised more than $20 million for Avon philanthropy in the decade since it launched. The event was hosted by Reese Witherspoon, award-winning actress and Honorary Chair of the Avon Foundation for Women, and Andrea Jung, Chairman and CEO, Avon Products, Inc., with a special musical performance by Melissa Etheridge.
More than 550 guests attended and donated $2.2 million this year to benefit breast cancer research and access to care and domestic violence education, prevention and victim support programs. Along with Reese Witherspoon and Andrea Jung, presenters included Patrick and Jillian Dempsey and Christy Turlington Burns.
“This is our very special tenth anniversary celebration where we honor extraordinary champions who are changing women’s lives, and salute their powerful contributions to women’s health and empowerment,” said Andrea Jung. “Through the generosity of our supporters, in addition to the grassroots efforts of millions of supporters around the world — including our Avon Sales Representatives, Associates, and customers — Avon is the world’s largest corporate philanthropy focused on issues that matter most to women.”
Reese attended the Annual Avon Foundation For Women Gala in New York City last night! She looked gorgeous in a little Jason Wu dress with a black bustier top and a ruffled champagne coloured skirt, with Louboutin shoes and her beautiful blonde hair down. As an Avon Global Ambassador, Reese co-hosted the event with Avon Chairwoman and CEO Andrea Jung, who she greeted and posed with on the pink carpet. There was also a Sweet Home Alabama reunion of sorts, as Patrick Dempsey and his wife Jillian, who is Avon’s Global Color Creative Director, were seen in a group photo with Miss Reese!
70+ photos from the event have been added to our Gallery for you…
Reese news is slow again, but here’s an interesting little tidbit:
Congressman Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) and Arizona’s Secretary of State Ken Bennett (R) will team up at a “Democracy Forum” on October 30 in Tucson to promote civil discourse on the key national issues of immigration and the economy. Dr. Peter Likins, President Emeritus of the University of Arizona, will emcee the free, public event taking place from 1:30 until 4 p.m. at the Arizona Historical Society/Museum.
At the Forum, Secretary Bennett and Congressman Grijalva, who are from differing political parties, will each present their position on immigration and the economy then the audience will ask questions, discuss the issues and vote on them. The National Student/Parent Mock Election is spearheading the Democracy Forum, which is designed to bring parents, grandparents, children and public officials together in a bipartisan, intergenerational, multi-ethnic forum.
Other event highlights include:
* Video of former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and other celebrities including Morgan Freeman, Reese Witherspoon, and Whoopi Goldberg heralding the Declaration of Independence and current American freedoms.
