Filming for The Morning Show season 3 started this month, and there are some new cast additions, plus confirmation of stars returning:

Jon Hamm Joins Apple TV+’s ‘The Morning Show’

Don Draper is heading to UBA.

Jon Hamm is joining season three of Apple TV+’s The Morning Show.

Hamm, fresh from starring in Top Gun: Maverick, will play Paul Marks, a corporate titan who sets his sights on UBA, pulling Billy Crudup’s Cory, Jennifer Aniston’s Alex and Reese Witherspoon’s Bradley into his powerful orbit.

The third season of the drama series, which will see Charlotte Stoudt serve as showrunner, goes into production later this month.

It means that Hamm, who is nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Commercial as part of a sarcastic ad that highlights that he has never starred in a project for Apple, finally joins the tech giant’s on-screen family.

The Morning Show is coming off a number of its own Emmy noms including Witherspoon for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and Crudup for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, which he won for season one and Marcia Gay Harden for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.

The series is produced by Media Res, Hello Sunshine and Echo Films. It is exec produced by Witherspoon, Aniston, Stoudt, Mimi Leder, Michael Ellenberg, Kristin Hahn and Lauren Neustadter.

The second season, which premiered in September 2021, ended with Aniston’s Alex contracting Covid after visiting Steve Carrell’s Mitch Kessler in Italy with the virus spreading through New York, forcing the staff to get ready to produce the show remotely. Elsewhere, Crudup’s Cory confessed his love for Witherspoon’s Bradley, who is dating Laura Peterson, played by Julianna Margulies.

Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, Janina Gavankar, Tom Irwin also star alongside Greta Lee, Ruairi O’Connor, Hasan Minhaj, Holland Taylor, Tara Karsian, and Valeria Golino in season two.
Hamm is repped by CAA, Forward Entertainment and Sloan, Offer, Weber and Dern.

‘The Morning Show’: Julianna Margulies Returning For Season 3

Julianna Margulies is set to return for Season 3 of Apple TV+’s The Morning Show in the role of UBA news anchor Laura Peterson. Production on the new season is currently underway.

Emmy Award winner Margulies’ return follows the recent casting of Mad Men star Jon Hamm, who will portray Paul Marks, a corporate titan who sets his sights on UBA, pulling Billy Crudup’s Cory Ellison, Jennifer Aniston’s Alex Levy and Reese Witherspoon’s Bradley Jackson into his powerful orbit.

The Morning Show follows the professional and personal lives of employees of media conglomerate UBA, specifically, its morning show hosts Alex and Bradley, with ousted anchor Mitch Kessler (Steve Carell) and news division president Cory, among others.

Picking up after the explosive events of Season 1, Season 2 found The Morning Show team emerging from the wreckage of Alex and Bradley’s actions to a new UBA and a world in flux, where identity is everything and the chasm between who we present as and who we really are come into play.

Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, Janina Gavankar, Tom Irwin and Marcia Gay Harden also star.

Season 3 will be showrun and executive produced by Charlotte Stoudt, who has a multi-year overall deal with Apple TV+ for scripted TV series. Executive producers include Michael Ellenberg through Media Res, along with Aniston and Kristin Hahn through Echo Films; and Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter through Hello Sunshine. Mimi Leder serves as executive producer and director.

The Morning Show was most recently nominated for three Emmys including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for Witherspoon, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama for Crudup, and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama for Harden. Crudup won an Emmy in 2020.

Margulies is repped by WME, and Gendler & Kelly.

Nicole Beharie Joins Season 3 Of ‘The Morning Show’ As New Series Regular

Nicole Beharie (Miss Juneteenth) has been tapped as a new lead opposite Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon in the upcoming third season of Apple TV+’s The Morning Show.

Beharie will play Christina Hunter, a grounded, competitive and charismatic Millennial who is a new anchor on The Morning Show. Christina works hard, plays hard and navigates the Teacup with good-humored irreverence.

She joins another high-profile new Season 3 series regular addition, Jon Hamm, as well as and the return of Julianna Margulies who was introduced last season. Production is currently underway.

The Morning Show follows the professional and personal lives of employees of media conglomerate UBA, focusing on the group that puts together the network’s morning show. Season 2 found the team emerging from the wreckage of hosts Alex (Aniston) and Bradley’s (Witherspoon) actions, to a new UBA and a world in flux, where identity is everything and the chasm between who we present as and who we really are comes into play.

Along with Aniston and Witherspoon, the Season 2 cast included Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, Janina Gavankar, Tom Irwin and Marcia Gay Harden. New additions for Season 2 included Greta Lee, Ruairi O’Connor, Hasan Minhaj, Holland Taylor, Tara Karsian, Valeria Golino and Margulies.

Charlotte Stoudt is Season 3 executive producer and showrunner under a multi-year overall deal with Apple TV+.

This marks Beharie’s first series regular role since her starring turn in Fox’s Sleepy Hollow. She plays a lead in the Sundance breakout Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul, which is being released September 2. Before that, she starred in Channing Godfrey Peoples’ Miss Juneteenth. In TV, Beharie most recently appeared in Amazon’s anthology series Solos and the HBO limited series Scenes From a Marriage opposite Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain. She’ll next be seen starring opposite John Boyega and Michael K. Williams in Breaking, which received the Special Jury Award at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Beharie is repped by WME and attorney John Meigs.
