I wish Ms. Witherspoon and speedy and complete recovery. Ms. Witherspoon showed amazing class by choosing not to take this personally and prosecute the elderly lady who struck her. But on the other hand it is clear that the elderly woman poses a serious threat to society and should never be allowed behind the wheel of a car again. My son was once struck by a vehicle in a crosswalk with other members of his track team. Fortunately, he too was not seriously hurt. But we must protect of children and adults from such drivers with far too much experience behind the wheel.
