Angela Bassett has joined Fox’s “This Means War” alongside Chris Pine, Tom Hardy and Reese Witherspoon, with McG directing.
The action/romantic comedy centers on two best friends and international spies who fall in love with the same woman and declare war on each other.
Producers are Will Smith, James Lassiter, Robert Simonds, Witherspoon and Simon Kinberg.
Bassett will play the boss to Pine and Hardy’s characters who has dedicated her entire life to the spy business and has no life outside the CIA.
She will next be seen in Sony’s wedding comedy “Jumping the Broom,” due out May 6, and Warner’s “Green Lantern,” opening June 17.
ABC and the Mark Gordon Co. are developing a television pilot, “One Police Plaza,” for Bassett to star in as the first female police commissioner in New York City.
