2006 Golden Globe Nomination
Reese Witherspoon has been nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category for her amazing performance as June Carter! Other nominees in the category include Judi Dench, Keira Knightley, Laura Linney and Sarah Jessica Parker. This is Reese’s third nomination – previous nods were for Legally Blonde and Election in the very same category. Joaquin Phoenix also received a nomination and Walk the Line is up for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
The Golden Globes are given by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, a group of about 90 reporters who work for non-American news outlets. Winners will be announced January 16, five days before the polls close for Oscar voters.
The Golden Globes are considered one of Hollywood’s most prestigious award galas next to the Oscars so please leave your congratulations for Reese and everyone who worked on Walk the Line!

• It is just utterly impressive the performace that Reese had. The work that both her and Joaquin put into their roles is very admirable. I hope that the romantic comedy tag doesn’t prevent her winning this or the Oscar
