This Means War is aMcG directed action-packed romantic comedy which sees best friends Tuck and Frank, played by Tom Hardy and Chris Pine, waging an epic battle against each other when they find out that they’re both dating the same woman.
Reese Witherspoon plays Lauren, the woman who gets both men in a tizzy, and as they decide to leave it up to Lauren to choose one of them, the pair use their CIA skills to sabotage each other’s dates with her.
Speaking about Tuck and Frank’s extreme measures to try and win the heart of the girl they love, Chris said: “There’s the unspoken code amongst guys that if a woman does come between you there’s certain rules you have to abide by.
This Means War for Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon
“I think for these two guys who live by a code of rules and ethics it kind of throws them when they meet a beautiful girl.”
One of the lines from the film sees Lauren making reference to Tuck’s small hands, but both Chris and Reese claim not to know what it means.
Chris laughed: “I had to ask McG literally 20 times what that means and it was never answered, but I laugh at it whole heartedly.
Reese added: “We figured we had to say that because the British people have the best sense of humour and can take the p**s.”
Reese Witherspoon, Avon Global Ambassador & Honorary Chairman of the Avon Foundation for Women, today (March 5th) launches the new Empowerment “Circle of Support” Necklace in recognition of International Women’s Day on March 8th. The necklace is the latest Avon fund-raising product that raises life-saving funds for the Avon Speak Out Against Domestic Violence program, which has donated nearly $40 million to end the epidemic of violence against women globally.
Empowerment “Circle of Support Necklace”
One hundred percent of the net profits from the necklace’s sale will benefit Avon’s Speak Out Against Domestic Violence initiative. The silvertone necklace features the infinity symbol, which in Avon’s Speak Out campaign represents lives with unlimited potential when free from violence.
“It’s a shocking reality that one in three women worldwide will experience violence in their lives. It’s an unacceptable truth that we must all work to change,” said Reese Witherspoon, Avon Global Ambassador & Avon Foundation for Women Honorary Chairman. “In recognition of International Women’s Day, I’m proud to support the Avon Speak Out Against Domestic Violence program and I encourage everyone to purchase, wear or give the Avon Empowerment Necklace to help raise awareness as well as vital money for domestic abuse support services.”

In honor of International Women’s Day 2012, the Avon Foundation for Women is excited to announce a new App Challenge, called Ending Violence @ Home, in partnership with the Institute of Medicine. Registration opens March 8.
I’ve now added screencaptures from Reese’s recent appearance on Ellen to promote This Means War. She looked really pretty in another black outfit, and it was a very funny interview! Unfortunately I still haven’t been able to find a video of the full interview online to post for you, but a few clips have been posted on YouTube, which you can watch below … don’t miss the 2nd one, in particular, which is a clip of Reese and Ellen dancing during a break!
Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon ‘This Means War’ interview
Reese Witherspoon finds herself torn between two men in Charlie’s Angels director McG’s latest movie This Means War.
Tom Hardy and Chris Pine are the suitors competing for her affections, and to add an extra twist to proceedings they’re both best friends who happen to be highly-trained CIA field agents.
Witherspoon and Pine sat down with Digital Spy to discuss early roles (“She’d seen me in ER,” quips Pine), Hardy’s love for mixed martial arts and weigh in on the age-old Star Trek debate: Captain James T Kirk vs. Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
Pine admitted that his character’s desire to impress Witherspoon’s Lauren spilled over off-screen with Hardy.
“I think guys naturally do that when there’s a beautiful woman around,” he said.
“There’s the inclination to out-charm the other, so Tom threw his best English accent at it and I tried to impress her with my hair.”
Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine explain why their latest comedy ‘This Means War’ is a good date movie, while director McG reveals viewers might get different endings in different cinemas. (Feb. 28)
