Just last month, Reese and the Draper James team took a field trip down to Blue Ridge to meet the talented craftspeople who make each and every pair of our jeans. We watched the workers cut, stitch, and sew (42 steps in all!) and left incredibly impressed by their artistry and dedication. We are proud that these workers are continuing the rich history of Southern denim making and even prouder to say that they are making jeans for Draper James!
Scans from Reese’s recent cover for In Style US have now been added to our Gallery. In the magazine she discusses her Southern roots, fame, female influences and role models, Draper James, and her recent film roles.
Reese Witherspoon Calls ‘Cruel Intentions’ Reunion ‘So Much Fun’
Reese Witherspoon joined “Extra” at this weekend’s Produced By Conference in Los Angeles, where she talked about how much fun she had reuniting with her “Cruel Intentions” co-stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair.
They were all at Rockwell Table & Stage’s “The Unauthorized Musical Parody of Cruel Intentions” in Los Angeles last week. Reese said, “Sarah, Selma and I, we knew all the lines.”

The trio documented their girls’ night on social media, with Sarah and Selma even reenacting their famous onscreen kiss in a pic that went viral. Reese revealed she didn’t realize what Sarah and Selma were doing. “I didn’t even know they were doing it. They’re cute, they’re such nice girls, and we had so much fun sort of reliving the old days.”
Reese has starred in countless movies since the 1999 release of “Cruel Intentions,” and recently took on the role of producer with such films as “Gone Girl” and “Wild.”
Up next for the Oscar winner is working with producing partner Bruna Papandrea on the live-action film “Tink,” based on the beloved Disney character, Tinkerbell.
“We’re excited,” Reese said about the film that she will also star in as the title character. “It’s our biggest family film we’ve thought up.”

Reese Witherspoon’s Lifestyle Company Is Given a Name
Reese Witherspoon’s Southern-influenced lifestyle company has been given a name: Draper James — not to be confused with Mad Men’s Don Draper or anything. (The name is reportedly inspired by her grandparents.)
The Goop-like business also includes plans to open a retail store next year, reports E! news. Items that will be sold include bed and bath products, kitchenware, furniture, stationery, swimwear, fragrances and cosmetics. An official description calls Draper James a brand that “will emphasize [Witherspoon’s] Southern roots and personal style.”
It was announced in March that the Devil’s Knot actress had hired C. Wonder president Andrea Hyde as CEO for her not-yet-named company at the time. Before Hyde’s role at C. Wonder, she was also CEO of French Connection and Nicole Farhi and previously held positions at Kenneth Cole, Gap Inc., Estee Lauder and Calvin Klein.
A couple of days back in New York city, Reese previewed her new fragrance (as part of her Avon duties) In Bloom. Pictures are surfacing now and I’ve added the first available ones. Reese looks just stunning and so feminine at the event.
“It was a unique experience for me because I had no idea what goes into making perfumes. I thought you just pick a fragrance and it’s easy. But there were all these different levels of creating a scent that were new to me, but really fun and exciting.”
“I was really drawn by white flowers to get that sense of a steamy night somewhere in the South. Definitely gardenia is a big thing for me because my father — every Mother’s Day or on my birthday — would buy small bouquets or corsages for my mother and I. And my mother always wore beautiful white-flower perfumes, so as a young girl, that was my idea of femininity. It’s indicative of where I am today. I’m feeling very strong and independent and so happy. The fragrance really captures that feeling — it’s very sensual, very romantic and alluring.”
The fragrance will be available exclusively from Avon in November.
To celebrate our 16 years online, here we are spotlighting 16 of our favourite Reese things from the past 16 years. You will see a new one upon refreshing or changing the page.
"It took me years to be the woman my mother raised. It took me 4 years, 7 months and 3 days to do it, without her. After I lost myself in the wilderness of my grief, I found my own way out of the woods."
