February 3, 2012   •  Category: Career, OtherComments Off on Reese Witherspoon Admits Crushing On Johnny Depp

Let’s take a trip back in time — further back even than 1991, when an adorably precocious 14-year-old Reese Witherspoon, star of “The Man in the Moon,” sat down for her first-ever MTV interview.

Instead, let’s jump straight into the ’80s, as we did during Tuesday’s “MTV First: This Means War” live stream event, to learn a little bit about what the future Oscar-winner was like before showing up on the Hollywood scene. Because it was back then that Witherspoon was just a tween with a dream — a dream named Johnny Depp.

Regarding the first celebrity object of her affection, Witherspoon confessed during the interview, “I have to say probably Johnny Depp in ’21 Jump Street.’ I just had a really major crush on him. I used to pull pictures out of Teen Beat and put them on my wall.”

And now, a couple of decades later, she’s finally admitting it to the world, because she certainly has never told Depp. “I don’t think he knows,” she said, laughing. “I’m not sure it would faze him: I’m sure he’s heard that quite a bit.”

Depp, of course, graduated from “Jump Street” to big-screen icon, never once joining in a traditional, shoot-’em-up action flick — much like Witherspoon herself, until “This Means War.” The decision to sign on to one at this point in her career (opposite Chris Pine and Tom Hardy) stemmed from never wanting to repeat herself.

“I try not to make the same movie twice,” she explained. “I try to explore and push out in new areas, and I thought it was a nice way to get comedy and action together. I’ve never really been in a movie with a bunch of guns and action sequences. I’d turn to Tom and Chris and say, ‘The bad guys are chasing us — this is hysterical!’ It would just make me laugh. I think it’s ridiculous — me running from the bad guys. But it was really fun.”

February 3, 2012   •  Category: Career, Films & Projects, Other, The FamilyComments Off on Reese Witherspoon’s Kids Find Her Movies ‘Entertaining’

Hopefully you tuned in to MTV on Tuesday night for “MTV First: This Means War,” during which acclaimed actress and MTV Generation Award winner Reese Witherspoon presented an exclusive clip from her upcoming film and stuck around for a lengthy chat to discuss her diverse career and various leading men, the most recent being Robert Pattinson and “War” co-stars Chris Pine and Tom Hardy.

Witherspoon also talked about being a mom to daughter Ava, 12, and son Deacon, 8, and whether they have started to watch any of her movies together.

“Not really. I think it’s weird,” Witherspoon admitted. “I don’t encourage it, but if it comes on, we’ll watch it. They kind of find it entertaining. They’re kind of fascinated with a movie I did when I was 14. They really want to see ‘The Man in the Moon,’ because that’s sort of starting to be the age that they are.”

Seeing as how many celeb kids choose to follow in their parents’ footsteps, we asked Witherspoon if her children caught the acting bug or talked about wanting to act.

“It just doesn’t enter the picture. I encourage their artistic abilities at home, but they’ve never said that it’s anything they wanted to do,” Witherspoon said.

The busy actress and mom also dished about her encounter with Kate Middleton at the California launch of Tusk Trust, an organization designed to preserving Africa’s culture, back in July.

“That was very cool,” Witherspoon gushed of meeting the Duchess of Cambridge. “There’s such a history there, and I think there’s also a fascination with [Kate]. She carries herself so beautifully, keeps her composure, and under a lot of stress, I’m just kind of fascinated with how people handle different modes and lifestyles and all that. She’s very smart and sweet.”

February 3, 2012   •  Category: "Water For Elephants", OtherComments Off on ‘The Artist’s’ Uggie The Dog Is ‘In Love’ With Reese Witherspoon

Jean Dujardin, Berenice Bejo and cast of “The Artist” have been receiving rave reviews and awards nods for their black and white silent film, but a certain furry, four-legged actor keeps stealing the show – Uggie the Dog!

While Hollywood stars and audiences alike have fallen in love with the pup, Uggie only has eyes for one blond beauty.

“He likes Reese Witherspoon,” dog trainer/Uggie’s owner Owen Van Muller revealed to Billy Bush and Kit hoover on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live. “They worked together [in ‘Water for Elephants’] and he just wanted to kiss her every time. He’s in love with Reese.” Owen rescued Uggie – a Jack Russell Terrier – when he was just “8 or 9 months old,” and the pup’s talent became evident very quickly.

“When did you know he had star potential?” Kit asked.

“Pretty soon after I got him because he was very, very smart, paid a lot of attention, loved to train, loved to work,” Owen answered.

Despite Uggie’s growing fan base, Owen said “The Artist” was the pup’s final feature film.

“He’s pretty much retired. He’s almost 10 years old and I really don’t want to put him through long hours anymore,” Owen said. “We were working 12, 15 hours a day in ‘The Artist.’”

Adding, “Maybe little things here and there, a couple of hours or something, would be fine, because he actually loves doing this work, but no more long hours.”

February 2, 2012   •  Category: "This Means War", Gallery Updates, News & Gossip, OtherComments Off on Preview photos and quotes from the Graham Norton Show interview

The DailyMail.co.uk have posted some preview photos and quotes from Reese’s interview with Graham Norton, which will air here in the UK tomorrow night. Reese talks about her recent car accident, and the reason behind her new fringe…

Many Hollywood stars get a fringe for a new look or to give a more youthful appearance.

But Reese Witherspoon admitted she decided to cut her hair after she was left with a scar following a road accident in September.

The Oscar winner ended up with a cut on her forehead and a black eye after she was knocked down by a pensioner’s vehicle while jogging.

The mother-of-two, 35, recalled the accident in Santa Monica during an interview on tomorrow nights’ Graham Norton Show.

Assuring Norton she had totally recovered following the ‘particularly un-showbizzy’ incident, she said: ‘I was jogging and I got hit by a car, it’s not funny at all.

‘They said I am very hard headed because I landed right on my head and I have a scar, hence my new hairdo.

‘I don’t remember much about it but miraculously and thank God I am fine.’

Witherspoon refused to press charges against the 85-year-old driver, who was cited by police for failing to stop for a pedestrian.

However, the actress joked the pensioner was now using a bus instead.

She added: ‘She was 85 so they took away her licence and gave her a

February 2, 2012   •  Category: Career, Other, The FamilyComments Off on Reese Witherspoon Calls Taylor Swift ‘Profound’

At the 2011 MTV Movie Awards when Reese Witherspoon took the stage to accept her Generation Award, she used the moment to stand up for every young woman out there.

During her headline-making speech, she proudly told the girls watching the show that “I know it’s cool to be bad. I get it … but it’s also possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show.” Now, many months later, Witherspoon sat down with MTV News on Tuesday (January 31) for “MTV First: This Means War.” And, during the lengthy chat, she opened up about her speech.

“Well, I have a 12-year-old daughter, and I take it all very seriously. I think there’s not a lot of positive images out there for young women, honestly,” she explained. “I don’t know, I just feel like shining the light on the good was an incredible move on MTV’s part and that you don’t have to sell yourself short and objectify yourself in order to be popular or liked or loved. And there’s many different ways to the watering hole and you can maintain you self-respect and still accomplish things.

“I don’t watch certain reality shows but there’s ones where people are doing cool, interesting things, like ‘Project Runway.’ But I’m not into women hating on other women or hitting each other or beating the crap out of each other to make money for a bunch of other people,” she continued. “I think that’s not what I want my kids to see.”

That feminist stance has made her the go-to role model for a new generation of stars, including Taylor Swift, who cites her as one of her idols. “I think it’s an accumulation of life experiences and hopefully you handle yourself with grace and dignity and life and that’s all you can hope for and hope to pass on to people,” she said of her own role-model status.

“And I think [Swift is] just an exemplary young lady,” she added. “It’s kind of interesting to see what a profound songwriter she is. I don’t even think anyone has realized, the long term is going to be the bigger revelation. It’s incredible how quickly she writes songs. We’ve hung out a couple of times; we live near each other in Nashville.”

January 27, 2012   •  Category: OtherComments Off on Katherine Heigl on romantic comedies and Reese

Katherine Heigl mentioned Reese in a recent interview, saying that she loves watching Reese’s movies:

AP: Since leaving the show, you’ve starred in several romantic comedies. Are you worried about being typecast?

Heigl: They tend to be the movies I watch when I’m home and hanging out and want to relax. I want to watch Kate Hudson, I want to watch Reese Witherspoon, I want to watch all those great movies that make you feel good. So I loved being a part of them and I didn’t mind being typecast, but any time you start to wander outside the box a little bit people start to get confused. … This one is an interesting one because it wasn’t a conscious decision not to do romantic comedy. … The book explores so many different themes that in order to honor it properly and do right by it we couldn’t just turn it into a romantic comedy.

January 1, 2012   •  Category: Other, Site Updates1 Comment

As it’s January 1st already, I would like to take a second to wish all of our visitors and fellow Reese fans – as well as Reese herself – a very Happy New Year! I hope 2012 brings you lots of happiness and success.

2011 was a pretty special year for our Reese, as she walked down the aisle with Jim Toth in March. Professionally, she spent several weeks on a massive worldwide promotional tour for Water For Elephants, then began filming new movie Mud in Arkansas and doing re-shoots for This Means War. Glamour Reese Witherspoon site-wise, we underwent a make-over with a new tribute layout to Legally Blonde to celebrate the iconic movie’s 10 year anniversary. Glamour Reese Witherspoon also reached 10 years online … a fact that will be celebrated a bit late but soon, due to my poor memory and busy offline life! Thank you for visiting and supporting GRW in 2011 – we hope you enjoyed your visit this year, but we promise you more of the same and better in 2012, all in honour of the loveable Reese and her loyal fans!

December 24, 2011   •  Category: OtherComments Off on Merry Christmas from Glamour Reese!

Glamour Reese Witherspoon would like to wish you all, and Reese and her loved ones, a very Merry Christmas! I hope your holidays are filled with shiny presents, yummy food, and most importantly of all, a lot of Christmas joy!

“I make my mother’s champagne punch, which is basically just champagne and ginger ale. Everybody has too much to drink and sings loudly. It’s fun! We watch the kids rip through their presents. They have the best time.” – Reese on her Christmas traditions

December 8, 2011   •  Category: OtherComments Off on Taylor Swift, Abigail Breslin and Jane Fonda love Reese!

A few celebrities in the press promoting new works have mentioned Reese as one of their favourites recently!

Taylor Swift:
In the Dec. 10 issue of Billboard magazine, where Swift covers the magazine as it’s Woman of the Year, she says, “I have a lot of role models. Faith Hill is a big role model. Reese Witherspoon is a role model of mine – she’s not in music, but I love everything she stands for. Shawn Colvin is a huge role model for me. Her writing has been consistently great and thoughtful…” (huffingtonpost.com)

Abigail Breslin:
In exchange for the honor, we asked the star to tell us which Hollywood ladies she admires. “I really like Reese Witherspoon. Anne Hathaway, I really like,” she said. “I love all their work.” (mtv.com)

Jane Fonda:
THR: Whom do you most admire in Hollywood?
Fonda: Interestingly enough, one of the women I’ve always admired is Sherry Lansing. I got to know her when I was at Columbia Pictures working on a film about nuclear energy that Michael Douglas produced, The China Syndrome. Her grace on the job, her kindness, the generosity of her spirit — they all really, really struck me, which is one of the reasons that I’m so excited about getting this award. I also very much admire Helen Mirren, Vanessa Redgrave and Meryl Streep, who did her first movie, Julia, with me. I’m probably one of the very first people who ever saw her onscreen. I just am in total awe of her! She’s beyond anything one could ever imagine an actor to be. There’s so much talent out there — female talent of all ages, and I just love watching them all work. Whether it’s Reese Witherspoon or one of my favorites, Annette Bening.

Back to the missing October/November events, and today I have added over 120 photos from the Elle Women In Hollywood Tribute that Reese attended a few weeks ago. She was there to present her friend and Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston with one of the Elle awards on the night. Reese looked smart in a Bocanegra trouser suit with a Maje camisole and Christian Louboutin shoes, and accessorised with a Lambertson Truex clutch and Irene Neuwirth earrings that added a splash of colour to her outfit. During the event, Reese was snapped greeting Jennifer backstage, and chatting with Jennifer’s boyfriend, Justin Theroux, their friend Chelsea Handler, and Camila Alves.

Photos are in our Gallery now, and further down this post you will find videos and articles from the event.

April 7, 2011   •  Category: "Water For Elephants", OtherComments Off on “Water for Elephants” inspired scarf from Zappos

Zappos.com’s quest to raise its apparel profile is getting some help from Hollywood. The online shoe destination has partnered with 20th Century Fox to create a scarf inspired by Marlena, the circus performer Reese Witherspoon plays in the movie “Water for Elephants,” which hits theaters on April 22. The $79 silk scarf marks the first time Zappos.com’s private label team has produced merchandise associated with a film in-house. “A scarf is one of the key pieces to her [Marlena’s] ensemble throughout the film, so we thought it was a great carryover,” said Tom Ellingson, an assistant manager of business development at Zappos.com.
