Talk about a family affair! “Sing” stars Reese Witherspoon, Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Hudson all hit the red carpet with their respective children at the animated film’s Los Angeles premiere. Reese attended the Los Angeles premiere of her new animated musical-comedy Sing last night! She looked fab in a little sequinned printed dress by Elie Saab, with Christian Loubotin shoes and Anita Ko jewellery. Reese attended the premiere with her family – husband Jim, and kids Ava, Deacon and Tennessee – and posed with them and her co-stars and crew on the red carpet. Reese Witherspoon Launches Multimedia Brand for Women
Reese Witherspoon is getting into the media scene.
The actress and producer — along with Otter Media, the joint venture formed between The Chernin Group and AT&T — are launching Hello Sunshine, a new cross-platform brand and consumer-facing content company dedicated to telling female-driven stories. Hello Sunshine will leverage the experience of its founders to create, curate and discover powerful content by and for women across all platforms, from daily social and short form digital content to television shows and motion pictures.
The company will begin to share content in 2017 at Hello-Sunshine.com, as well as across other platforms. Witherspoon’s current production company, Pacific Standard (Gone Girl, Wild), is part of Hello Sunshine and will continue to elevate and champion female storytelling.
Media and tech industry executive Kerry Tucker will lead the company as CEO, overseeing all operations and strategy. She jumps from her position as COO of The Video Genome Project, the video startup recently acquired by Hulu, and previously served as EVP/CMO of Victoria’s Secret and head of marketing for all divisions of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.
Seth Rodsky, founding partner of Strand Equity Partners, is partnered with Witherspoon on the deal and will join the Hello Sunshine board.
“I’m thrilled to be partnering with Peter Chernin and AT&T on this exciting new company. My lifelong passion has been to tell women’s stories with authenticity and humor. This partnership will allow me to reach a greater audience that is eager for more female driven content,” said Witherspoon in a statement. “Kerry Tucker is uniquely qualified to run this company with her extensive marketing background and her understanding of the female audience. Hello Sunshine is deeply committed to creating content that will reach women where they spend time, whether it is at a movie theater, at home or on their mobile device. Women are looking for entertainment that speaks to them about what they value. Hello Sunshine will make content that entertains, educates and brings women together.”
Reese Witherspoon on Daughter Ava Growing Up Before Her Eyes
“Extra” special correspondent and O magazine’s creative director Adam Glassman recently caught up with Reese Witherspoon in Dallas, where she promoted her lifestyle brand Draper James and dished on her look-alike daughter Ava.
Reese is known for her chic style, and it looks like her teenage daughter is taking after her! Reese shared, “She’s really enjoying fashion. It’s great to see her becoming a beautiful young woman.” Reese even pretended to cry at the thought of her little girl growing up and joked, “It’s so sad.”
Ava made her red carpet debut at a Chanel dinner in September. On what advice she gave the 17-year-old, Reese dished, “Just be confident and feel good about yourself.”
Reese is also sharing that same advice to women everywhere, with her brand. “Every woman should feel comfortable and confidence because when you look good, you feel good. Don’t get stressed, just put on a cute dress and a pair of sandals and you’re done.”
Speaking up dressing up, the Nashville native credits her upbringing with her love of fashion. She said, “Southern women like to look dressed. I grew up in a a place where you were supposed to dress up to go on an airplane.” She went on, “I like getting dressed up, I think it’s fun and I want to make that easy for women.”
As for what inspired her to create Draper James, Reese commented, “I grew up in the middle of the country so when I think of dressing, I think about all the people in between New York and L.A. and what we wear to sporting events or church or a dinner party.”
Witherspoon is also giving back with her line. “It’s important for me to give back to the communities that support us. We found Girls Inc. and they do these incredible after-school programs.”
