Reese Witherspoon’s Draper James Teams Up With Coterie to Design Adorable Tailgate Accessories

Just like its founder Reese Witherspoon, Draper James is all about having a good time.

Confirming this fact, the Southern-inspired lifestyle brand announced exclusively with PEOPLE that they have teamed up with maker of stylish party goods Coterie to create a line of entertaining accessories perfect for fall — and specifically, the most wonderful time of year: tailgate season.

The Draper James x Coterie Tailgate Set, which launches on Wednesday [21st], features five different products, each of which draw on Draper James’ signature style (think gingham, magnolia flowers and lots of “Y’all”s).

The line includes disposable napkins, cups, balloons and other decorations perfect for hosting a pre-game party.

Known for its bright and playful merchandise, Draper James is inspired by Witherspoon’s personal style, and aims to embody the charm of a fun-loving Southern gal. Witherspoon is the creative director of the brand, and named it after her grandparents — Dorothea Draper and William James Witherspoon — who she says taught her all she knows about Southern living.

Coterie, on the other hand, was born on the East Coast and is known for its elevated party supplies, which typically come arranged in chic, themed-sets, much like the Tailgate collection.

“The Draper James girl loves to entertain, so the partnership with Coterie was a perfect match,” said Kathryn Sukey, Head of Design at Draper James. “This line is full of charming party products that capture the spirit of both brands and add just the right touch to every table and tailgate party this season.”

Perhaps the best part about the Tailgate set? Each item costs less than $10. The balloons are priced at $9, the cups $8, the napkins $7 and the foam finger cupcake toppers $6.

The collection is now available for purchase at DraperJames.com, CoterieParty.com and in Draper James’ brick-and-mortar stores.

The Highest-Paid Actresses 2019: Scarlett Johansson Leads With $56 Million

Black Widow’s most lucrative superpower? Her negotiating skills. For the second year in a row, Scarlett Johansson tops Forbes’ list of the highest-paid actresses, earning $56 million.

That includes a lot of Marvel money, like an eight-figure check for her upcoming Black Widow film and an impressive back-end payment of about $35 million for the $2.8 billion-grossing Avengers: Endgame.

Johansson is joined on the list by newcomers Elisabeth Moss and Margot Robbie, as well as returnees like Sofia Vergara and Reese Witherspoon. Together, the world’s ten highest-paid actresses tallied a combined $314.6 million between June 1, 2018, and June 1, 2019, before fees and taxes. That’s 69% more than last year’s cumulative total, but still far less than the top ten actors’ $588.3 million.

Stay tuned for more next week on how these actresses managed to increase their earnings by taking Hollywood into their own hands.

The full list is below. Earnings estimates are based on data from Nielsen, ComScore, Box Office Mojo and IMDB, as well as interviews with industry insiders. All figures are pretax; fees for agents, managers and lawyers (generally 10%, 15% and 5%, respectively) are not deducted.

Reese Witherspoon Sets Home-Organizing Series at Netflix

Netflix is doing a little more tidying up.

Eight months after Tidying Up With Marie Kondo debuted on the streamer, it has ordered another home-organization series that counts Reese Witherspoon and Molly Sims among its executive producers.

The as-yet untitled, eight-episode show will feature Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin, who founded design-centric home-organization company The Home Edit and have parlayed their success into a best-selling book and now the Netflix series. Each hourlong episode will take on two organization projects shaped by Shearer and Teplin’s unique sense of form-meets-function.

Subjects in the series will be a mix of everyday families and celebrity clients.

Sims and Witherspoon previously worked with Shearer and Teplin on a series called Master the Mess, which aired on DirecTV in 2018. They are executive producing the Netflix show with Charlotte Koh and Cynthia Stockhammer of Witherspoon’s company, Hello Sunshine; Critical Content’s Tom Forman, Jenny Daly and Jon Beyer; and showrunner Tess Gamboa Meyers, a veteran of Project Runway and Little Women: NY.

The series will join a roster of unscripted shows on Netflix that also includes Queer Eye, Nailed It!, The Chef Show, Selling Sunset, The Final Table and Street Food, among numerous others.

Netflix Wins ‘Pyros;’ Reese Witherspoon To Star, Produce Thomas Pierce Sci-Fi Film With Simon Kinberg

Netflix prevailed over several studios to land Pyros, an adaptation of the Thomas Pierce science fiction short story Tardy Man that has Reese Witherspoon attached to star in the film, and produce with Simon Kinberg. Pierce will write the script.

Deal comes a day after Apple unveiled a teaser trailer for Morning Show, a series that Witherspoon stars in with Jennifer Aniston. Now, Netflix has a Witherspoon feature vehicle. I’m told that up to six studios chased this package and that Sony Pictures was among the finalists.

Pierce will write the script based on his short story that was published in The New Yorker magazine last year. It’s the second major movie deal he has made on one of his New Yorker short stories; Chairman Spaceman was bought and is being developed by Fox Searchlight. Kinberg is producing that one as well. Deadline revealed the package hit the market August 1.

Hello Sunshine’s Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter are producing with Genre Films’ Audrey Chon.

Tardy Man deals with a group of augmented people who are fitted with indestructible fire suits that are fused to their spines. They work for a corporation that recovers objects for wealthy people when their houses are burning. It is strictly forbidden for them to veer from their salvage missions, even when other humans are in danger. The protagonist decides to make an exception to this rule and that is the jumping off point.

It’s the second big female-driven package deal to land this week. Yesterday, New Line beat out 17 other bidders for Don’t Worry Darling, the spec script that Booksmart’s Olivia Wilde will direct and star in. CAA is in the middle of both auctions, which are expected to sort themselves by next week. Witherspoon is managed by LBI and the writer by Kaplan/Perrone.

To celebrate their 25th anniversary, In Style have gathered several of their most famous cover stars from the past 25 years to each take a trip down memory lane and look back at their previous In Style covers. As well as talking us through their covers, the stars have been photographed for the current issue in a way that reflects their current selves. Reese tells us about her covers from 2002, 2004, 2009, 2015, 2016 & 2019, and for the latest photoshoot was snapped in May in New York City.

You can browse through all of the featurettes at InStyle.com. Read Reese’s article at InStyle.com or below, and find the photo in our Gallery. We’ll have scans for you asap.

Reese Witherspoon Doesn’t Want You to Worry

“In my early 20s I used to worry a lot. I was worried about being a good mom. I was worried about being a good actress. I worried about whether or not people respected me, or if I was kind enough. But in the end it all works out. Really!”

I was on my first InStyle cover in 2002, when I was 26. I had always been a fan of the magazine, so it was a big deal. Looking at that cover now, I can’t help but feel tender toward baby Reese and anyone else who’s going through that phase of life when they’re discovering who they are, especially in the public eye. I know what she’s about to go through and endure and triumph over, but she has no idea what’s to come, despite the fact that she does look all coy and knowing. I’m an actor: I might look like I know things sometimes, but I don’t.

Since then I’ve been on the cover of InStyle five more times. I guess you could say I’ve been swimming in the soup. It’s been a huge privilege and an honor. Sometimes I do cringe when I look back [at images of myself], but it’s only because I can’t believe I cut my hair or plucked my eyebrows a certain way. More than that, I usually just think about what a lovely way it is to remember milestones in my life, like finishing a project I was really proud of or having kids. It’s crazy how time flies, but I’ve learned so much about myself over the years. There’s a pretty good quote in my 2002 cover story where I said, “Listening to other people’s ideas about who you are can eat you up. Do they like me? Do they hate me? You could think about it all day long.” That’s something people say in their 20s. Once you’re in your 40s you don’t care what people think.

I came up in a time when Hollywood was about one body type, one beauty standard [blond hair and blue eyes]. Still, I was confident that the substance of what I had to say was more important than any external validation. I was always just being myself: a young mom, a comedian, a goofball. I’ve always been a goofball. I feel more comfortable making funny faces than serious faces, and even at 26, I wasn’t appearing on the covers of men’s magazines. That kind of hypersexualization made me feel awkward, and if I felt that way, I didn’t want to make other women feel that way.

The film will be written by Thomas Pierce, who is adapting his short story Tardy Man, which published last year in The New Yorker. Pierce has done well with this strategy: his short story Chairman Spaceman was bought and is being developed by Fox Searchlight. Kinberg is producing that one as well.

Josh Lucas Says Reese Witherspoon Has to Give the Go-Ahead on ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ Sequel

Josh Lucas is ready to return to Alabama!

ET’s Nischelle Turner caught up with the 48-year-old actor at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s annual grants banquet on Wednesday, and he revealed that he’s definitely down to reprise his beloved role as Jake Perry in the 2002 flick Sweet Home Alabama. Before Lucas heads down south, though, he shared that it’s his co-star, Reese Witherspoon, who’d get the final say on if the romantic comedy could score a sequel.

“I’m up for it. I know Reese’s said she is as well,” Lucas told ET. “The director [Andy Tennant] is absolutely up for it. I spoke to him about it a couple of times recently. So look, I throw it out to you, Reese.”

“… I think the person who’s the one to put it together is Reese, so I’m hoping,” he continued. “Who knows? She’s got a lot of irons in the fire to say the least. Hopefully this is one of them.”

As for if there’s any movement to make the sequel a reality, Lucas revealed that Tennant “has a script and a development he has done,” but cautioned that this “doesn’t mean” that there’s anything official just yet.

“I think the thing about the story, it’s one of those [where] they’re eternally in love,” Lucas said. “So, even if they’re going through a rough time, whatever it is, they’re eternally in love. That’s kind of the beauty in that magical film.”

During a Facebook Live chat back in 2016, Witherspoon gushed over starring as Melanie Smooter in the film and revealed that she’d be down for making a sequel.

“I love Sweet Home Alabama!” Witherspoon said. “We are not making a sequel that I know of, but if Disney wants to call me, I would happily make a Sweet Home Alabama 2!”
