REESE Witherspoon says it was a “nightmare” having to ride a horse in her new movie Water for Elephants.
The actress admits wearing tights while on the animal hurt her legs!
“I trained to ride an elephant for about three months before filming but I was always wearing jeans,” says Reese.
“So when I showed up on set and I actually had to get up there in tights I was like ‘Ouch!’ My legs felt like they were getting stabbed by little needles. It was a nightmare.”
Reese recently talked about working with Robert Pattinson on Water for Elephants.
I am so lucky. He’s so amazing and wonderful and sweet and just the nicest guy too, so you can just add that to the soup,” she revealed. “I mean, he’s just so good looking and he’s a really nice person.
“We’ll probably just laugh the whole time, because all we do is just laugh and joke around.”
A few new details/quotes relating to Water For Elephants have arisen from recent interviews, mainly with Robert Pattinson, recently. Here they are whittled down for you:

# Reese Witherspoon loved Tai. They have a routine together in the movie, so she trained with Tai for countless hours over many weeks.
# Tai would recognize Rob and Reese because they spent so much time together on the set.
Robert Pattinson on the movie, speaking to Ryan Seacrest:
“It’s sort of a big beautiful old-fashioned love story . . . set in the ‘30s . . . me and Reese Witherspoon playing lovers, it’s very sweet,” he elaborated. One of the interesting stories coming off of his work on the film has been his strong working relationship with and respect for the movie’s elephant, Tai, which portrays “Rosie,” an important and influential circus creature.
“It’s completely amazing . . . working with kids or elephants . . . they’re the most kind of sophisticated, gentle creatures you could hope to work with. I mean right from the very first day . . . when I met Tai who plays Rosie in the movie . . . she was with five or six other elephants, and it is kind of intimidating in the beginning, especially when they’re standing on their back legs. . . I got carried around in her mouth and stuff . . . and you suddenly realize how incredible they are,” he said.
Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson share a smooch and more in the upcoming ‘Water for Elephants,’ and the onscreen lovebirds are talking about their forbidden movie romance with ET! They also share a nugget of obscure movie trivia — they were once cast in a film as mother and son!
In ‘Water for Elephants,’ Reese plays the married star performer in a circus who catches the attention of a bachelor animal caretaker, played by ‘Twilight’ star Rob. When ET visited the Los Angeles set during production on the film last summer, Reese rode atop an enormous elephant for a scene involving an elaborate 1930s parade.
Reese gushed about sharing love scenes with Rob, proclaiming, “I am so lucky. He’s so amazing and wonderful and sweet and just the nicest guy too, so you can just add that to the soup. I mean, he’s just so good looking and he’s a really nice person.”
Rob said the pair hadn’t yet shot their love scenes, but shared, “Reese has only got two days [of work] left [on the film]. So … they must expect me to be very professional about it.” He also gave a tidbit about one love scene — he says it ends with his character getting beaten up!
Reese Witherspoon spends every birthday in the spa.
The 34-year-old actress – who has two children, Ava, 11, and Deacon, seven, with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe – marks her special day in the same way every year, relaxing with a close friend and indulging in her favourite treats.
She said: “Every year on my birthday, I go with my best girlfriend to a spa, get facials and massages, drink Champagne, and eat cake.
“We’re both moms, so to take four hours out of the day to gossip and catch up is really fun.”
Though Reese takes care of her appearance, she admits she still falls foul of the occasional beauty disaster.
In an interview with the British edition of Glamour magazine, she explained: “I recently dyed my eyebrows for a movie, so I have to pencil them in. It’s a pain, but they look funny if I don’t. Don’t ever dye your eyebrows.”
As well as disliking what her role in ‘Water For Elephants’ did to her eyebrows, Reese is also recovering from the impact her work has had on her hair.
She said: “I’m enjoying having longer hair again. I cut and dyed it white over the summer for a movie, so I’m taking vitamins and willing it to grow.”
