Reese Witherspoon to Produce Drama ‘Delivery’ in Development at NBC From Kristin Newman, Rob Wright

Reese Witherspoon is attached as an executive producer on a drama in development at NBC, Variety has learned.

Titled “Delivery,” the series is based on the real experiences of series creators, writers, and executive producers Kristin Newman and Rob Wright. It is described as a family drama set in a high-risk perinatology unit. Newman and Wright, a husband and wife team, collaborated for the first time on the script which they wrote last year during the three months Newman spent living in a hospital labor and delivery ward, first on bed rest, and then in the NICU after their daughter was born ten weeks early.

In addition to Witherspoon, Newman, and Wright, Lauren Levy Neustadter will also executive produce. She is the head of film and television for Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine production company, which is set up under an overall deal at ABC Studios. ABC Studios will produce in association with Hello Sunshine.

This marks the latest television project for Witherspoon, who most recently starred in and executive produced the HBO drama “Big Little Lies,” which won eight Emmys including Outstanding Limited Series. It is yet unknown whether a second season of the series will be produced. Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston are also teaming up to star in and executive produce a series that will focus on a New York morning show.

Newman is a writer and producer known for her work on “That 70’s Show,” “How I Met Your Mother,” and “Galavant.” She also executive produced ABC’s “The Muppets” and wrote for “The Real O’Neals.” Wright wrote for and co-executive produced Fox’s “Lethal Weapon” series, and previously worked on shows like “Ash vs Evil Dead,” “Grimm,” “Charmed,” and “Walker, Texas Ranger.” He also created the Fox series “The Mob Doctor.”

Newman is repped by UTA and Hansen Jacobson. Wright is repped by ICM and Bloom Hergott. Witherspoon is repped by CAA, LBI Entertainment and Hansen Jacobson.

Crate and Barrel Announces Partnership with Reese Witherspoon

Global home furnishings retailer Crate and Barrel has announced it is working with entrepreneur, Academy Award-winning actress and critically acclaimed producer Reese Witherspoon as the brand’s newest ambassador. The ongoing partnership, which will also incorporate Witherspoon’s own lifestyle and fashion brand Draper James, kicks off today with the launch of Crate and Barrel’s holiday advertising campaign.

As someone who has expressed a longtime love of design and entertaining personally and, most recently, via the creation of Draper James in 2015, Reese Witherspoon was a natural partner for the brand. Both Reese and Crate and Barrel exude timelessness infused with modernity through everything they do and create, resulting in the perfect synergy for a collaboration.

“We are honored to work with Reese, who expresses so many of the best qualities of our brand—style, warmth, and optimism,” said Crate and Barrel President Steve Woodward. “Reese has shown the world she has an eye for design, and we’re thrilled for her to showcase that as an ambassador for the company. Reese truly brings the unique Crate and Barrel experience and spirit to life.”

The holiday campaign, “Make This Season Merry and Just Right,” features Reese entertaining friends and family at home, accompanied by her favorite products from Crate and Barrel. Reese Witherspoon: ‘It’s bizarre that men I once starred with have such young screen lovers’

Reese Witherspoon has hit out at relationships between older men and younger women on film, saying they do not reflect real life.

The actress, 41, said she found it “bizarre” that the actors she starred with at the beginning of her career were now appearing alongside love interests a decade or more their junior.

She attributed the issue, which has also been raised by Maggie Gyllenhaal and Cate Blanchett, to the fact that most stories were told through a male director’s “lens”.

The American actress bucks the trend in her new film, Home Again. Witherspoon plays a woman who strikes up a romance with a much younger man, played by 26-year-old Pico Alexander, after splitting from her husband.

She told the Standard: “It’s interesting, the movies that I used to make with certain leading men, they get older, but their co-stars get younger, but my co-stars don’t. It’s weird.

“It’s not reflective of reality, it’s a construct in a certain way and it’s seen through the lens of a lot of male directors. So I think if we change the people making the movies we’ll see different relationships on film.

“I think there’s a really unique relationship between an older woman and a younger man in the film and I thought that I’d never really seen that on film, apart from maybe The Graduate, which is a completely different dynamic.”

Reese appeared on UK chat show The Graham Norton Show last night, alongside Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford. During the interview, they spoke briefly about Big Little Lies and The Emmys, Home Again, Reese’s producing work and how she has developed this over the years (she admitted that Legally Blonde 2 was not as good as the first!), her Mum’s short but to the point film reviews, and the US president plagiarising Elle Wood’s graduation speech. It was unfortunately a really awkward interview that re-hashed old subjects and offered nothing new, however, it was fun to see her with these 3 other stars! Reese wore a little black dress by Altuzarra for the show. Find HD screencaptures in our Gallery, and a few clips further down this post:

Reese attended the London premiere of Home Again earlier this evening, and she looked very glamorous in a dramatic black dress by Stella McCartney (accessorizing with Louboutin shoes and Cartier jewellry). On the red carpet Reese talked to reporters about what drew her to the film and what she enjoyed about working with a female storyteller; she was also congratulated on the Big Little Lies wins at the Emmys. We have the first HQ photos in our Gallery for you:
