Congratulations to Reese for receiving an Oscar nomination for her performance in Wild!! Her co-star Laura Dern also earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for the film. One of Reese’s fellow Best Actress nominees is Rosamund Pike, for her performance in Gone Girl which Reese produced.

This is Reese’s 2nd Oscar nomination, following her win for Walk The Line in 2006.

The Oscars will take place on February 22nd and air live on ABC.

Congratulations to Reese on her Screen Actors Guild Awards nomination for her work in Wild!! This was the only nomination for Wild from this awards group.

This is Reese’s 2nd nomination from the SAG Awards, her first of which was for Walk The Line back in 2005/2006 which she then won.

The awards ceremony will take place on January 25th 2015, and will air live on TNT/TBS.

Palm Springs Film Fest: ‘Wild’ Star Reese Witherspoon to Receive Chairman’s Award

Reese Witherspoon will receive this year’s Chairman’s Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival’s 26th annual PSIFF Awards Gala on Jan. 3 in recognition of her work in the Fox Searchlight drama. The fest will run Jan. 2-12.

The Oscar-winning star of Wild, which opened in select theaters on Wednesday, joins illustrious company with Ben Affleck, George Clooney, Richard Gere, Tom Hanks, Dustin Hoffman and Nicole Kidman all previous recipients of PSIFF’s Chairman’s Award.

“Witherspoon delivers one of her finest performances in Wild,” said PSIFF chairman Harold Matzner in a statement. “[She] brilliantly brings to life the true story of Cheryl Strayed, adding yet another iconic performance to her impressive 20-year span of characters.”

Witherspoon’s other acting credits include The Man in the Moon (1991), Fear (1996), Pleasantville (1998), Election (1999), Legally Blonde (2001), Sweet Home Alabama (2002), Vanity Fair (2004), Walk the Line (2005), Just Like Heaven (2005), Rendition (2007), Mud (2012) and, this year, Philippe Falardeau’s The Good Lie and Paul Thomas Anderson’s Inherent Vice.

PSIFF previously announced that Boyhood’s writer-director Richard Linklater will receive this year’s Visionary Award; The Theory of Everything’s lead actor Eddie Redmayne and Still Alice’s lead actress Julianne Moore will receive this year’s Desert Palm Achievement awards; Whiplash’s supporting actor J.K. Simmons will receive this year’s Spotlight Award; that Rosamund Pike will be honored with its Breakthrough Performance Award.

Cotillard, Cruz to be honored at ‘Elle’ Women in Hollywood

Marion Cotillard, Penélope Cruz, Reese Witherspoon, Naomie Harris, Melissa McCarthy and Nancy Meyers are honorees at the 20th anniversary of Elle’s Women in Hollywood event on Oct. 21 at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills.

Shailene Woodley will receive the Calvin Klein Collection Emerging Star Spotlight Award, and Eva Marie Saint will get the L’Oréal Paris Legend Award.

“This is a special moment for Elle as we mark 20 wonderful years of Women in Hollywood,” says Elle editor-in-chief Robbie Myers in a statement. “The longevity of this annual celebratory event is a testament to the remarkable women we honor who have been setting an example in the entertainment industry with their brilliant work. We’re proud to continue championing these illustrious women in the years to come.”

Last year’s Women in Hollywood honorees included Cate Blanchett, Elle Fanning, Shirley MacLaine, Sarah Jessica Parker, Susan Sarandon, Octavia Spencer, Uma Thurman, Emma Watson, and Kristen Wiig.
