Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine Expands Into Music, Hires Alex Flores to Build New Division
Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine is launching a bright new division: music.
The media company behind Amazon’s Prime Video musical drama Daisy Jones & the Six and the Apple TV+ music competition series My Kind of Country has named Alex Flores as executive vice president, music.
Flores, who held senior roles at Broadcast Music, Inc. and BMG, will build and oversee Hello Sunshine’s expansion into music and spearhead strategic initiatives in the music space. She will report to Hello Sunshine COO Liz Jenkins.
“Alex is an absolute force in the music industry and we are so excited to have her lead Hello Sunshine’s efforts in the space,” Jenkins said in a statement. “The depth and breadth of her experience make her uniquely suited to build the business alongside our Content and Direct-to-Consumer teams.”
Hello Sunshine, a part of Candle Media, has been behind a number of hit movies and TV series, including The Morning Show, Your Place or Mine, From Scratch, Something from Tiffany’s, Little Fires Everywhere, Where the Crawdads Sing, Truth Be Told and more.

Reese appeared on US chat show Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday, to promote Your Place Or Mine. It was a good interview – she chatted about the film, The Morning Show, Friends, her first appearance on SNL (also Seth’s first appearance) which was a couple of weeks after 9/11, rom-coms, and how she gave a recap of How Do You Know to airplane passengers! Why Reese Witherspoon Thought Ashton Kutcher Was a ‘Quirky Guy’ the First Time They Met
“We have so much in common,” says Ashton Kutcher of bonding with Reese Witherspoon during the filming of their new movie, Your Place or Mine
They may be playing longtime besties in their new Netflix movie, Your Place or Mine, but Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher’s real life friendship is decidedly more new.
“We didn’t know each other at all,” Kutcher, 44, explains in this week’s issue of PEOPLE. Adds Witherspoon, 46: “I was worried because we were supposed to play best friends [in the movie], so we started sending videos to each other, like 30 seconds long.” According to Kutcher, the videos helped “build” the onscreen couples’ connection.
And Witherspoon can still recall the one time she did meet Kutcher, years ago at a party.
“He brought his own beverages,” recalls Witherspoon with a laugh. “I thought it was endearing. Like, ‘This is a quirky guy!”
Kutcher responds, “It wasn’t my cooler! Those were somebody else’s beverages!”
